Esquina Carlos Gardel is considered the Tango temple of Buenos Aires and is named after the most renowned Tango composer and singer, Carlos Gardel. It is located in Abasto; an area which is known as one of the principal Tango neighbourhoods of Buenos Aires during the 1930's – Tango’s ‘Golden Age’ - and was also the neighbourhood where Carlos Gardel himself grew up.
Esquina Carlos Gardel used to be a restaurant called "Chanta Cuarto" where Carlos and his friends would meet up to write tango lyrics and sing. Nowadays you can enjoy a wonderful Tango evening in this very same place. The top quality typical Argentine food (named after Tango songs) and the very professional tributes to the maestro Carlos Gardel, make for an authentic Tango night out in Buenos Aires. The Tango show can be purchased with or without dinner.
There are no actual tickets to the tango show. The reservations are made under the name of the customer and the booking agency.
Passengers staying outside the transfer circuit will be assigned the closest hotel within the area, as a meeting point.
Children up to the age of 3 enter free of charge. Children aged 3 to 10 pay half price.
Please note that the transfer service is responsibility of the tango house. However, in any case you need, our Emergencies Assistance Team is ready the 24 hours a day to help you solve any problem.

O ambiente interno é bem requintado! Os pratos possuem nomes de tangos famosos de Carlos Gardel e estavam deliciosos. A apresentação de tango é espetacular! Além dos dançarinos e músicos dançarem e tocarem impecavelmente, estão sempre com uma expressão de que gostam do que estão fazendo - o que torna ainda mais prazeroso assistir. Estávamos em dúvida sobre qual tango ir, mas saímos com a certeza de que fizemos a escolha certa.
O único ponto a levantar foi que nos havia sido informado que receberíamos a confirmação da reserva até 48 horas antes da apresentação. Porém, já havíamos chegado no hotel e ainda não tinham nos confirmado a reserva mesmo o show sendo no dia seguinte. Tivemos que ligar para o bsas4u (recomendo utilizar o Skype) para confirmar e informar o hotel onde estávamos. No final, acabou dando tudo certo mas gerou uma tensão desnecessária.

I went there with my boyfriend and it was an incredible experience. We booked the VIP tour because we wanted the ultimate experience. The tango house is gorgeous, food was excellent. We had neverending champagne and wine, with over-the-top service. The show was beautiful: music and dance on point.

The dancing was superb and the music was very good. Food was okay and wine just passable. The transport home (included in our tour) was a debacle. The driver dropped two other couples and we were last. An older couple were dropped at a street corner and the driver pointed down the street. The couple were clearly disorientated and did not know where they were. The driver paid no regard. In our case the driver was clearly lost and took a long time even to find our general area (Uruguay Street - not a backwater in BA). He then dropped us at a street corner pointing the direction we were to go and indicating that it was a one-way street, so he could not turn into it. We initially refused, saying we wanted to be dropped at our accommodation, as promised. He started yelling and motioning us off the bus. Luckily, we are seasoned independent travellers and were able to negotiate the two block walk home at 1am. A very poor end to a good night. We are sure there are plenty of unemployed Portenos who can drive, know their city well enough to negotiate one-way streets, and would show common courtesy to paying customers. This particular driver needs to find another occupation.

Fomos para Buenos Aires para comemorar os 86 anos de minha mãe. E a única coisa que ele efetivamente pediu, foi assistir a um espetáculo de tango.
Em novembro de 2013 estive com meu marido em Buenos Aires e fomos ao Senhor Tango. Mas avaliei que para minha mãe, o Esquina Carlos Gardel seria mais adequado. E de fato assim foi. Tivemos a sorte de termos ido numa segunda-feira e a casa não estava lotada. A nossa mesa estava muito bem localizada, os pratos servidos no jantar saborosos bem como o vinho que acompanhava a refeição estava muito bom.
A casa é muito bonita, e o show é muito bom. Na medida certa para não tornar o espetáculo enfadonho ou cansativo. Excelente corpo de baile e músicos.
O único senão foi em relação ao transfer da ida. Apesar dele ter chegado pontualmente às 20 horas no hotel, deu muitas voltas para buscar os demais passageiros.
Tanto foi que na volta, por algum motivo, viemos em outra van, com passageiros que estavam hospedados próximos. O que tornou o retorno bem mais aprazível.
De qualquer forma já indiquei o serviço de vocês para dois amigos nossos que irão para Buenos Aires no final do ano, dada a minha e da minha família, satisfação.
